AIRPORTS

 

Two international airports in Montenegro (Podgorica and Tivat), and one in Croatia (Dubrovnik) available for those who arrive in Montenegro by plain.
      

PODGORICA AIRPORT

   
It is 12 km away from Podgorica, 80 km from Kolasin, 170 km from Zabljak, 62 km from Budva and 65 km from Bar.

Airport services: exchange offices, cafeterias, restaurants, souvenir shops, tourist bureau  and other transport services (bus transportation to the center of the town or taxi service).

From Podgorica to Belgrade and back there are at least two flights daily, the flying schedule and number of flights are fixed depending on the season (winter and summer flying time). In the summer season there are several charter-flights from abroad daily.

TIVAT AIRPORT

   
It is 4 km away from Tivat, 20 km from Budva and Herceg Novi, 58 km from Bar, 73 km from Ulcinj and 80 km from Podgorica.

Airport services: card and coin operated telephones, souvenir shops, tourist bureau, duty-free shop, cafeterias and transport services (bus transport to Herceg Novi and Budva or taxi service).

DUBROVNIK AIRPORT

  
It was situated at Cilipi 20 km away from Dubrovnik, 24 km from Herceg Novi, 44 km from Tivat and 68 km from Budva. Tourists coming to Montenegro with charter flights to Cilipi airport have organized bus transfer to the hotel destination.

 

 

 

 

PORTS AND HARBOURS

 

The port of Bar is the bigest port in Montenegro. The capacity depends on the type and length of boats, 14 to 20 boats can be served at same time.

The Kotor harbour is consists of the Kotor bay with the operative coast of 216m in length  and 3 to 12,8 m in depth, Lipici terminal with 75 m long operative coast and the small harbour of Bigovo, located on the open sea. Zelenika terminal with selling and warehousing main activities. The length of the operative coast is 270 m, and 92 m in depth.

BUS TRANSPORTATION

  

 

The bus traffic through Montenegro is very heavy. There are bus stops are in all towns and cities of Montenegro. The ones in Herceg Novi, Budva, Bar, Podgorica and Pljevlja work 24 hours a day during the tourist season. There are also regular daily bus lines to Belgrade from where international bus lines run.

During the summer season, the number of buses is increased on most lines through Montenegro, especially to and from the coast. Timetables are arranged for every year separately.

RAILROAD

 

The existing railways are 249 km long and are predominately electrified. The main railway is Bar-Podgorica-Belgrade with braches towards Niksic and the other one towards Skadar (Albania).

There are five passenger trains on the Bar-Belgrade route per day: three-express trains, one business, one auto-car and one train with sleeping cars.

On the Bar-Subotica line there is one daily express train with sleeping cars.

The passenger trains on the Bar-Belgrade line are connected with international trains to Budapest, Vienna, Bucharest, Athens, Moscow etc.
